SHM Shipcare accomplished the project work of 'MV Ma Lisha'

SHM Shipcare has witnessed the completion of a historic project in association with Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) for ‘MV Ma Lisha’, a passenger-cum-cargo ocean-going ferry, the first time any Indian Defence PSU has built for exports to a Latin American country.

SHM Shipcare Kolkata unit has delivered the Liferaft Davit, Liferafts, Cradle, Lifebuoy, MOB & Fire extinguishers to the ‘MV Ma Lisha’. The ferry was flagged off on Thursday, Jan 12, 2023 from its facility on the banks of the Hooghly river by GRSE chairman and Managing Director Commodore (retd) P R Hari.

The ship is designed and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd, and will go to Chennai where it will be loaded onto a semi-submersible vessel ‘MV Sun Rise’, for the long voyage to Guyana. The ship can accommodate 294 passengers, including 14 crew members, along with 14 cars, two trucks, and 14 containers and cargo.
